The Risk control Committee has developed a “Risk control Awards”
program. The awards recognize those members who have demonstrated
excellence and improvement in safety performance.
Risk Control Awards list criteria utilizing a weighted point
system has been adopted based on RCA scores, risk control workshop
attendance, participation in claims reviews, board meeting attendance
and funding based loss ratios for the two most recently completed
policy years.
Following are the criteria. A total of 1000 points is possible.
Risk Control Assessment Score (RCA)
(300 points possible)
Examples: A company with a Risk Control Assessment score of 87% receives
261 points. (87 X 3)
Risk Control Workshop Attendance
(100 points possible – 50 per for the most recent two workshops)
Participation in Claims Reviews
(150 points possible – 75 per for the most recent two claims reviews)
If a company does not qualify for a claim review (no losses > $10k) points are awarded.
Board Meeting Attendance
(50 points possible – 25 per for the most recent two meetings)
Funding Based Loss Ratio (Most recent complete policy period)
(100 to 250 pts. Sliding scale if less than 55% - negative numbers accrued if over 55%)
Funding Based Loss Ratio (Next most recent complete policy period)
(50 to 150 pts. Sliding scale if less than 75% - negative numbers accrued if over 75%)
Computation for June meeting based on loss runs as of March 31st, and
computation for January meeting based on loss runs as of October 31st.
The 55% and 75% were selected based on losses at those levels likely
developing into 100% loss ratios by the time those years are closed.
Risk control awards are given to the top 1% of scoring companies, based on award
scoring receive a 'Gold award', the next 2% receive a 'Silver award', and the next 3%
receive a 'Bronze award'. In addition, most improved awards will go to the member who
has been a member for two years or longer showing the greatest improvement in support
list scoring, and new members showing the greatest RCA score improvement during their
first two full policy years in the program.
The following are the criteria.
- “Gold Medal” awards given to the companies representing the top 1% of scores
- “Silver Medal” awards given to the companies representing the next 2% of scores
- “Bronze Medal” awards given to the companies representing the next 3% of scores
- Most improved awards given to the 1 % of “long-term” companies showing the highest
point total improvement.
- New member most improved award to the member showing the most point improvement
in their RCA score during the first two full policy years in the program
