Risk Control

The Risk Control Committee reviews members who meet three or more of the six listed criteria.
Support List Alert Criteria
  • A member must not have a funding-based loss ratio over 150% during either of the last two complete policy years.
  • If a member fails to attend at least one of the last two Risk Control Workshops.
  • If a member fails to attend at least one of the last two Board of Directors Meetings.
  • If a member fails to attain an RCA score of 80% or higher one year after joining the program and a score of 90% or higher three years after joining the program.
  • If a member is in the highest 10% of the captive in the frequency of claims. The frequency rate is calculated by dividing the number of claims by the “A” fund.
  • If a member experiences a 10% increase in the ratio of the number of claims divided by “A” fund premium and has a funding-based loss ratio at or above the captive average.
A member will qualify for automatic review if they caused any risk sharing in the previous complete policy year.

A member must be in the captive for a complete policy year to qualify for review. If a member company meets the above criteria, that company’s risk control information will be thoroughly evaluated. If the committee deems it necessary, the member will be placed on the watchlist. If need be, additional loss control service time may be provided to the member from the captive's loss control allocation.
